I shall keep that in mind then.

Where to start then? Church was very important back in those days. Mass was in the morning and we made prayers with every meal.

We also would train a lot in weaponry and discuss strategy. And we accompanied our King on many different outings, even if it was just hawking or hunting.

Of course this isn't to mention more serious matters, such as warfare, adventures or maintaining the peace.

Of course, serious matters.

What was your favorite kind of passive outing? Hawking, hunting, or something else?

War was war, as I am sure you would know. And sometimes what we had to do wasn't something anyone would consider honorable.

And my favorite pastime? I just liked to ride. All day if possible. Or to spend time with my family. That was the best!

Family I can't do. Horses might be a bit of a problem.

But I do have a hovercycle. And I work for a motorbike shop. If that strikes your fancy.

A hovercycle?

But yes that does interest me. I haven't had much of a chance to try any of the modern rides yet, even though I have the ability to use them.

Well, I'd love to take you out riding. If you want to meet up for that.

If your life is anything like mine, there's not a lot of time to have fun.

I would be delighted!

That is true. It is better in this life, but when I was an actual living man, I was often busy with the duties that came with being a knight.

[erranthero]

Sounds like my life, honestly.

That's regrettable, Gawain. Though, I suppose duty is it's own reward, too.

I do not find it so sad. My honor and loyalty was very important to me.

Though now there are opportunities for more, so one should grasp them.

That's quite true.

Never let yourself regret a missed opportunity. A friend here keeps telling me that.

Then you should definitely listen to them.

Trust me, you only have this life. Okay, perhaps the next one, but it is never certain.

Haha, sure. But of course, duty comes first.

Really, this place is a bit like my second shot at life. Even if it's temporary.

Would you mind if I asked about what was going on with you before this place?

Or would that be prying?

It's hardly prying.

Fighting a guerrilla war against an enemy that's managed to invade a thousand star systems is a little too big to be personal.

[galatining]

I can imagine so.

I used to think that what we dealt with in Britain was difficult enough.

But a star system? Are you acting as a general?

Oh sure. General of a one woman army.

You really are full of surprises, Kerra.

Just me.

One Jedi's worth a hundred normal soldiers, and there aren't a lot of actual Sith or Jedi anywhere. The Sith have a lot of normal soldiers they've pressganged into service but training anyone to use the Force takes years, if not decades.

That sounds very lonely.

Save for at the end, I always had all my brother knights by my side.

You have faced quite a struggle.

I do what I have to do.

If I don't, then billions get left behind.

But thank you, Gawain. I don't think a lot of people really understand knighthood, unless they've lived it.

That's because most of them have only ever heard the fairy tails.

And they have never had to fight in a war.

It's hard to wrap one's brain around it.

You're right.

Only in my case, science fiction films.

[galatining]

I suppose that would be rather difficult.

Though you probably don't have hundreds of legends you star in? Now that is horrifying.

Or a relief! Because I don't want that!

The French ones are particularly unkind to me.

But well, that is the burden of heroism.
