Gawain not forcing it as Robin might expect is... weird. the Knight he knew more closely forced nearly everything onto him. like he did with the bird...
it was his bird.
he cants his head at Gawain and shrugs.]
Something. Maybe information on the other poisons around here, maybe the government turning a blind eye to whatever I do. I haven't decided. They might not need this at all and they're already well on their way to something nefarious. You'll deal with that kind of thing, won't you?
[Well Gawain could probably force the issue if he wanted to. But in the state Robin is in, that feels a bit unfair. And maybe Gawain isn't feeling his best either, despite how he appears. And there is the whole issue of type advantage, numeral of the saint and all of that fun stuff that isn't worth sorting out.]
...Hmmmm, that seems to be asking a lot. But if I did catch them doing something underhanded, yes, I would indeed end it.
[The benefit of carrying a big fucking sword is that people like to listen to you. And you can hit them with it when they don't.]
Do you want me to back you up when negotiating with you? It's a knight's job to mediate such matters anyways.
[Yeah no, he's definitely grateful that you are not a purple haired loli and not just for Camelot reasons.
And well, Mordred is a stick and can wield a huge sword just fine. You just need grit, Robin.]
Don't worry, I won't. Even with half of people here not knowing our legends, it's probably better in your case. [Gawain's weaknesses are really more like moments where he doesn't have an advantage. And most people are not able to just blot the sun out on command.] Besides, I am curious anyways.
[scouting IS important but hearing Gawain tell him that is a surprise. he was under the impression that he was a muscle-through kind of guy. with Leo as his Master, he always knew he would lose to the two. while Dan had the strategy and wouldn't lose to Leo when it came to wit and preparation and experience, Gawain definitely had Robin beat on Servant abilities. especially if Dan made him fight fair and square.]
I wonder if it's me you're scouting or the scientists, though.
[Everyone has a dark streak sadly. And knights are not always the same as in the fairy tales.
Dan Blackmore was someone Gawain would have liked to have faced if possible. He knows that Leo would have grown from the experience, though Gawain would still have ended it as quickly as possible. He knows how to use tactics, but the knight's greatest asset has always been brute force. Destroy a man before he tricked you and all those plots ceased to matter.]
Maybe it is a little of both. Though only my enemies have anything to worry about.

of course, the Knight is as chivalrous as he expected. maybe if he had a big fucking sword, too, he would have been a knight just like Gawain.
yeah, right. first of all, he's probably too skinny.]
What? [have Gawain behind him, being intimidating and all that shit? just like he was with Leo?
he'd rather not have a knight tailing him but he could be useful.]
... Well, if you wanna come I won't stop you. Just don't use my name. [he knows how Gawain is.] Call me Archer while we're in there.
[just like a certain old knight used to do.]

And knights are known for keeping their word.
[that much he knows. in this case, Gawain being all noble is an advantage to Robin.
it's definitely better, though. especially since his name is getting announced on the network at a later point, anyway.]
Curious about what?
no subject
Of course we are and I would keep my word, that is for sure. As long as it doesn't go against Master or the King, I follow what I say.
[For better and worse.
And ouch.]
Curious to see what is going on with the samples. Also, maybe it wouldn't be bad to see how you work.
no subject
what a Knight-like answer.]
How I work? It's not noble by any measure. You probably won't like it. If you're gonna get all chivalrous on me, don't come with.

[Considering some of the people who are in Chaldea, he needs to begin to learn to deal with things.]
But you have my word, I shall not interfere.
[Maybe he'll regret that though.]
no subject
though he had no idea he was interested in seeing back-alley deals.]
Preparing for the worst, huh? Alright.
[you're not as dumb as you seem, Gawain.]
You seemed pretty uptight standing at Leo's side all the time. I didn't think you'd be curious about my line of work.
no subject
And it's not like he has anything better to do than witness shady things right now. You can only whack so many weeds.]
Scouting is important.
[Simple and dumb and two very different things.]
What Leo needed of me is different than what Ritsuka needs of me and what I need on my own.
no subject
Really now?
[scouting IS important but hearing Gawain tell him that is a surprise. he was under the impression that he was a muscle-through kind of guy. with Leo as his Master, he always knew he would lose to the two. while Dan had the strategy and wouldn't lose to Leo when it came to wit and preparation and experience, Gawain definitely had Robin beat on Servant abilities. especially if Dan made him fight fair and square.]
